For almost 20 years now, IBRA, a software by and for ophthalmologists, has been using nomograms to support the planning of laser interventions. Laser eye surgery can thus be planned even better and ophthalmologists achieve more optimal results.
Newly, the IOL treatment planner becomes a part of IBRA Cataract Services. IBRA is a worldwide unique software for surgical ophthalmologists. And the results are impressive: In addition to higher visual acuity, surgeons also achieve more accurate results. The lower rate of necessary retreatments results in cost savings for doctors and the healthcare system on the one hand, and happier patients on the other.
The IOL treatment planning uses the SIA calculated by IBRA and the optimized lens constants (SRK/T and Haigis) for the individual patient case. For toric treatments, the planner calculates the optimal axis, cylinder power and residual astigmatism for all intraocular lenses currently on the market. The software helps ophthalmologists to achieve greater success and more satisfied patients by improving communication and conveying the right expectations about the procedure. Patients are engaged in the decision-making process, with even shorter consultations. This makes ophthalmologists more productive and safer.
